    Father's Day

Just wanted to wish my dad a happy father's day. We havent' always seen eye to eye. But one thing consistent, you as a father have always stood by my side.
Right or wrong. And usually more wrong than right, i remember the words, your my son.
I didn't understand it till i had a child of my own.
    Thanks Dad. I love you.
I know i don't say it often enough.
But you taught me to be a man and to be responsible for what i did.
You and mom. You both have been the two in my life that, always made me think and say, if i can be half of what they have been, then i will be doing good.
To all the real father's out there and those who read this forum.
    Thanks.
For being there for your kids. Don't happen alot to day. So you deserve a big Thank You for being dad, step dad or whatever, as long as you was able to make an influence, on some kids life.

Guys: Tell your Dad how much he means to you. It really hurts to have to stand over his grave and talk to the wind. I have the scars and got the shirt. Father's Day #14 without Dad for me. Yeah, you may not always see eye to eye, but you are awfully lucky to have him around. What i wouldn't give to hug my Dad and say "I Love you" to him one more time.

    Re: Father's Day

You never think days like this mean too much till you're forced to do without. I didn't think I was going to get to see my boys this Father's Day until early this morning, their mother called and told me to come on up and get them. Believe me, I was out the door and up that hill and pulling into their parking lot before she hung up the phone. It's been 35 years since my father died....never got to know him the way a son should.

    Re: Father's Day

I called my Dad today as I do every couple of days or so. I am so thankful to still have him. My Son and Daughter both called me for Father's Day.
Yes we all need to enjoy those special people while we can. We are not promised tomorrow.

    Re: Father's Day

I hear you Mik. I wasn't sure that I'd see my two boys today either, but their mother brought them by for awhile and i got to hang out with them (they needed a partner for Lord Of The Rings game, and the little one had a hankering for one of my world famous grilled cheese sandwiches). She didn't have to do that, but did. It was certainly appreciated.

    Re: Father's Day

I was fortunate to have my father for 38 years. He's been gone seven and a half years now, but I can hear him talking to me just like it was yesterday. I spent a little time with him at the cemetery today along with my five year old little girl that he never got to see.

He was the bravest man I ever knew. He battled cancer for seven years and had the greatest attitude I've ever seen. He taught me how to be a man, for that I'll be forever grateful. I pray everyday that I can be at least half the Dad he was.

The sacrifices he made for me were incredible, and it's amazing how much smarter he got to be when I was about 25 years old. I miss that man.

Still hard to believe that the voice of the Indians has been gone for 7 1/2 years. Veldon was a remarkable man. No doubt he is smiling down on you.
